Sheila Carrick
Solicitor
Sheila is the senior solicitor supervising the Mowbray City Advocates Mental Health department. Her areas of expertise include cases concerning the Human Rights Act, the Mental Capacity Act and deprivation of liberty provisions, as well as applications to the High Court by way of Judicial Review.
Sheila is a member of the Law Society's Mental Health Review Tribunal Panel and has considerable experience in representing patients at Mental Health Review Tribunals. Sheila is also a Mental Health Lawyers Association committee member and practitioner representative at the Administrative Justice and Tribunal Council.
Sheila regular represents defendants appearing at the police station and Magistrates Court with a particular interest in those who are mentally ill appearing within the criminal justice system. She is an accredited Duty Solicitor on both the Police Station and Magistrates' Court panels.
